As I sit here typing this I am thinking about all the awesome snow that we have in Fargo this year. I really enjoy watching the snow fall while looking out the living room window. Strangely, I also enjoy shoveling and especially running my snowblower. I have about a 20-year old machine that is like your favorite pair of sneakers. It may not be real pretty, but it just feels right for some reason.
The blower has not cooperated fully this year, but it has worked when I have really needed it and allowed me to practice my mechanic skills when it breaks. Although it is frustrating when it breaks, I get a great feeling of pride when I am able to fix it myself. I am thankful that I have a snowblower and even though I have been wrenching on it alot this year, it has not cost me too much in parts yet. Not bad considering I only paid 140 bucks 3 years ago for it and this is the 1st real maintenance I have had to do to it. It is a beautiful site when it chews through a foot of snow. I swear at times it begs me to go look for more driveways and sidewalks to clear. I can't wait until the next major snowfall, which at the rate it has been falling should be next week some time.
